Experience

A specialist and highly regarded serious and catastrophic injury lawyer, with a specialism in Neurotrauma, Lesley has for some 20 years worked on some extremely high profile cases.  Previously with niche medical and personal injury Law Firm Alexander Harris and for 10 years with the London neurotrauma team at Irwin Mitchell, Lesley is now a Consultant in our Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Team working alongside husband Michael Turner.

Known in the legal profession as the 'steel rose' after being dubbed as such by the barrister she had worked with on a particularly difficult case, Lesley brings to the SCOMO’s Injury team a dogged (steely) determination to secure the best results for her clients, often in difficult circumstances, whilst maintaining real relationships with them.

She has worked on some of the Cannon Street rail crash cases, acted for 7/7 victims  and for innumerable survivors of brain injury all over the country. She is extremely modest about her achievements, but counts as one of her most satisfying as that achieved for the 15 year old struck by a car as he cycled, without stopping, from a side road onto the main road. Written off as unwinnable  by other solicitors, Lesley established 25% liability by the ingenious use of speed camera imagery and then went on to recover £2.5 million, the equivalent of £10 million had it been possible to establish full liability.

Most recently, in the Summer of 2020, Lesley was one of the lead lawyers who secured  damages of almost £18 million for a client grievously injured in a high speed road accident on the M62 near Leeds.

Currently Lesley and Michael are working together on complex and catastrophic Injury cases with a combined damages value in excess of £30 million.

Interests

Outside of work Lesley enjoys time with her family, dog walking, and surfing in Cornwall and Portugal.
